Ive used the SlovoEd English-Turkish dictionary for several years. It appeared to be derived from Soviet-era technical dictionaries. It seemed the only one available. I didnt like it much. I just got the BitKnights dictionary, and it is far, far better, both in terms of vocabulary and interface design. It has many more of the words one wants for daily use in-country, and for reading literature, and fewer of the commercial, technical, engineering and scientific terms with which the SlovoEd product was encumbered. The interface makes it easier to get a quick clue as to the meaning of the word itself, and of phrases in which the word may be used, including idioms. Whats missing is some of the older (Ottoman-era) and more literary terms. I know, cant have everything, but thats why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Reviewers of earlier editions of this product have said some of the definitions are incorrect. Im fluent (but not perfect) in Turkish, and I have not found that to be the case, but I have only been using this product for a short time. Tom Brosnahan, TurkeyTravelPlanner.com

The dictionary is not bad, although Ive found some small issues in my 1G iPhone. Sometimes when typing the correct whole word, it appears in the -1 position (so to speak), so I have to scroll up to find it. When the history page starts growing up, the app tends to get slow, so I have to do some housecleaning. Finally and most important, sometimes a word is presented with so many translations that the important or meaningful ones are hard to find.

I live in Turkey and it is a great app when I cannot remember the Turkish word that I am wanting to say at the last minute

Easy to navigate, helpful tips, big range if words and expressions. Many options that let you save your own wordlist. Worths of its money. I recommend everyone who wants to buy it. You wont regret....

Some bad moments

Easy to use but practically useless. The majority of the definitions are incorrect and you cannot look up words containing less than 3 letter. "GO" anyone??

Tried to use this when shopping in turkey for items and it was practically useless when trying to look for basic words like jam,honey,oregano

horrible , they didnt tell about having to buy the voice separately- and it is only a dictionary- doesnt say full phrases. i want my money back please
